A Shropshire Lad

… is actually a collection of poems, first published in 1896. Most of the poems don't have titles – just numbers, from I to LXIII.

The quotations listed here are from numbers XL, L and LVI. Number XL is quoted in its entirety; I have noted three separate segments (lines 1 & 2, 3, and 5 & 6) quoted in quizzes over the years. Line 1 is often misquoted as "Into my heart on air that kills".

The second extract provided the title for a James Bond film, which was not based on anything written by Ian Fleming.
